Setting a form to be used for response items

Note: This article has done its job, and will be retiring soon. To prevent "Page not found" woes, we're removing links we know about. If you've created links to this page, please remove them, and together we'll keep the web connected.

Users select this type of form to create a response to the selected item. In a view, response items are indented below their parent item if the list view is set up to show responses in a hierarchy.

  1. Open the Designer.

  2. Click the form you want to set to be used for response items.

  3. Click Properties.

  4. Click Use this form to create responses to the selected item.

  5. In the Fields list, check any fields you want to inherit values from the parent item.

For example, you might choose to inherit values in a "subject" field, so that the subject text in a response item initially corresponds with the subject text in the parent item.
