With Personal options, you can specify how you will be identified in a meeting, add or change your phone number, and confirm or select another audio device for conference calls.

View Personal options

You can view Personal options by doing one of the following:

  • Before you join a meeting, click Start, click All Programs, click Microsoft Lync 2010 Attendee, and then click Personal.

  • When you are in a meeting, click the Options button at any time, and then click Personal.

Select how you will join a meeting

You need to provide information about how you want to join Microsoft Lync 2010 Attendee meetings, and you can change this information at any time. You can join a meeting as follows. In Personal, under Meeting join identification, select the Join as a Guest option and type the name by which you want to be recognized in the meeting, For example, full name, or first name and last initial.

Set up or change your phone numbers

You can add or change one or more of your phone numbers in Personal options by typing in the boxes for Work Phone, Mobile Phone, Home Phone, or Other Phone. These are the phone numbers that you can select from in the Join conference calls from drop-down list. For more details, see the next section.

Choose your audio device for a conference call

In Personal, under Join conference calls, when you click the Join conference calls from drop-down list, the phone numbers that you entered are displayed and so is an entry for Lync Attendee. The Lync Attendee selection means you want to join by using integrated audio and video. In this case, your computer’s default audio devices will be used.

Additionally, in this section you can select a check box that indicates you want to be prompted to confirm or select another audio source.
