Errors loading Excel Solver add-in

You may experience problems loading the Excel Solver add-in if you have WPS Office installed on your machine.


Microsoft is aware of and investigating the issue with WPS Office. If you encounter this problem, the ActiveX Settings for all Office Applications may be disabled. To check, do the following:

  1. Open Excel.

  2. Click File > Options > Trust Center.

  3. Click the Trust Center button.

  4. Click ActiveX settings.

  5. If Disable all controls without notification is selected, choose one of the "Prompt me" options instead and click OK.

    Note: If the ActiveX setting is disabled via group policy, please contact your IT administrator or company help desk.

If ActiveX settings weren't disabled, you may need to repair Office. You may also need to run repair one more time if WPS Office updates.
