Change the width of cell borders

Excel applies a default thin line style when you add an outer cell border or gridlines. If you want to change it, here's how you can pick another preset border width:

  1. Select the cell border that you want to change.

  2. Right-click the selected cells and pick Format Cells.

  3. Click Border.

  4. For a continuous line, pick one of these styles.
