The scale specifies the range of values on an axis, the intervals at which the values occur, the way the axis values are displayed, and the point at which one axis crosses another.

Value (Z) axis scale

Minimum

To change the number at which the value (Y) axis starts or ends, type a number. The number should be different from the Maximum number.

Maximum

To change the number at which the value (Y) axis starts or ends, type a number. The number should be different from the Minimum number.

Major Unit

To change the interval of tick marks and chart gridlines, type a number. The number should be different from the Minor unit number.

Minor unit

To change the interval of tick marks and chart gridlines, type a number. The number should be different from the Major unit number.

Floor (XY plane) Crosses at

To change the point where you want the XY plane axis to cross the value (Z) axis, enter a number.

Display units

If your chart values consist of large numbers, you can make the axis text shorter and more readable by changing the display unit on the value axis.

Tip: Changing the display unit is useful when the chart values are large numbers that you want to appear shorter and more readable on the axis. For example, you can display chart values that range from 1,000,000 to 50,000,000 as 1 to 50 on the axis and show a label that indicates the units are expressed in millions.

Logarithmic scale

Select the check box to change the value axis to logarithmic.

Values in reverse order

Select the checkbox if you want to reverse the order of categories.

Floor (XY plane) crosses at minimum value

Select the checkbox if you want to specify that the floor (XY plane) should cross the value (Z) axis at the lowest value on the axis.
