Description     The Base Calendar field indicates which calendar is the base calendar for a resource calendar. The list includes the three built-in calendars, as well as any new base calendars you have created in the Change Working Time dialog box. The built-in calendars are:

  • 24 Hours

  • Night Shift

  • Standard (default)

Best Uses     Add the Base Calendar field to a resource sheet when you want to display, filter, or assign the name of the base calendar being used to determine the resource's general availability and capacity for work.

Example     In addition to using the Standard calendar for those resources who work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., you have also set up a Mornings calendar for certain part-time resources who work 20 hours a week, 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Sean's schedule has been based on the Mornings calendar for the past year, but Sean has just become a full-time employee. You add the Base Calendar field to the Resource Sheet view, and change the field from "Mornings" to "Standard."

Remarks     You can also set the base calendar for a resource in the Resource Information dialog box. The default base calendar is the Standard calendar.
