Align and distribute shapes in Visio for the web

Want to get your shapes in line, like ducks in a row? Use the Align Shapes and Space Shapes commands to uniformly organize shapes on a diagram and create a polished look.

Align shapes

  1. Open the diagram for editing.

  2. Select two or more shapes.

  3. Select Home > Align Shapes Align Shapes icon , and then select from the list of options. In this example, you select Align Top.

    Aligning two shapes

    You can align shapes left, center, right, top, bottom, or middle.

Distribute shapes

  1. Select three or more shapes.

  2. Select Home > Space Shapes Space Shapes icon , and then select from the list of options. In this example, you select Distribute Horizontally.
