There is an extra line at the top of each page that follows a manual page break.
When you save a Microsoft Office Word 2007 document in a previous file format, a paragraph marker is added to the next line after a manual page break. This results in an extra line after each manual page break.
You can manually delete the extra line breaks from the document.
Delete extra line breaks
Do the following for each line break that you want to delete:
On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click Show/Hide.
Select the paragraph marker on the line that you want to delete.
