Known compatibility issues with Office 2016
Some of the known compatibility issues with the 2016 Office desktop applications include:
-
Exchange Server 2007 isn’t compatible with Outlook 2016. After you upgrade to Office 2016 and Outlook 2016, Outlook doesn’t connect.
-
Outlook 2016 requires Autodiscover so manually configured accounts won't work.
-
Outlook may time-out for some users.
-
Some third-party add-ins, such as Business Contact Manager, aren’t compatible with Outlook 2016. If you rely on add-ins, ask your admin to check with the vendor to find out if they are compatible.
-
The Lync experience is not available in Skype for Business 2016.
-
The Remote Call Control feature, which enabled users to control their PBX phones with their Lync and Skype for Business 2015 clients, is not available in Skype for Business 2016.
