Office Insider for Windows Desktop is available for those with an Office 365 subscription in two levels —Office Insider Slow and Office Insider Fast.

  • Office Insider Slow: Best for Insiders who want to get early access to fully supported builds with minimal risk and provide feedback to help make Office great.

  • Office Insider Fast: Best for Insiders who want to use the earliest preview builds, released more frequently, to identify issues, provide feedback to help make Office great, and don’t mind a bit of risk using unsupported builds.

    Note: By choosing the Fast level, you agree to the program’s terms, which supersede your agreement with Microsoft to use Office.

Are you using Office 365 for business? Your admin might control when and how you receive updates. If you're an admin, see How Office 365 commercial customers can get early access to new Office 2016 features.

Office Insider for Mac is available in two levels for Office 365 subscribers—Office Insider Slow and Office Insider Fast. If you own a one-time purchase of Office 2016, you will receive security fixes and improvements earlier than others, but no new features.

  • Office Insider Slow: Best for Insiders who want to get early access to fully supported builds with minimal risk and provide feedback to help make Office great.

  • Office Insider Fast: Best for Insiders who want to use the earliest preview builds, released more frequently, to identify issues, provide feedback to help make Office great, and don’t mind a bit of risk using unsupported builds.

    Note: By choosing the Fast level, you agree to the program’s terms, which supersede your agreement with Microsoft to use Office.

Ready to join? Become an Office Insider now for Mac through Microsoft AutoUpdate on your Mac. To access AutoUpdate, start any Office 2016 for Mac application, and then select Check for Updates on the Help menu. Check the box to Join the Office Insider program.

Office Insider for Windows Mobile is available in two levels—Office Insider Slow and Office Insider Fast.

  • Office Insider Slow: Best for Insiders who want to get early access to fully supported builds with minimal risk and provide feedback to help make Office great.

  • Office Insider Fast: Best for Insiders who want to use the earliest preview builds, released more frequently, to identify issues, provide feedback to help make Office great, and don’t mind a bit of risk using unsupported builds.

    Note: By choosing the Fast level, you agree to the program’s terms, which supersede your agreement with Microsoft to use Office.

Ready to join the Windows Insider program? Sign up and choose your Windows Insider level. You will then automatically receive the Office Insider updates for the Office Mobile apps on your device.

Currently, there is only one level for Office Insider on the Android phone and tablet. This means that Android Office Insiders will receive early access to fully supported builds through the Office Insider for Android community.
