Upgrading a PerformancePoint Server 2007 dashboard to PerformancePoint Services in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 is fairly easy to do. The IT department typically handles the migration of PerformancePoint content, such a dashboard items and data source connections. Then, you, a dashboard author, complete the upgrade process by opening and testing individual dashboard items, making changes to reports and scorecards as necessary, and redeploying your dashboards.
Post-migration tasks for PerformancePoint dashboard authors
As a dashboard author, you should complete three basic tasks to complete the migration of PerformancePoint dashboards and Web Parts from PerformancePoint Server 2007 to PerformancePoint Services.
Open, test, and redeploy the migrated content.
Remove report types that are no longer available and replace them with new reports.
(This is optional.) Update reports and scorecards to use new functionality.
To complete these tasks, see TechNet article Plan for importing PerformancePoint Server 2007 dashboard content to SharePoint Server 2010.
