Turn on or off photos of message senders and recipients

By default, when you open an email message or view it in the Reading Pane, a photo appears of the sender, if available. Photos of the sender and all recipients also appear in the Outlook People Pane beneath the Reading Pane.

You can turn this feature on or off. If you turn the feature off, photos do not appear in the message window, in the Reading Pane, or in the Outlook People Pane.

  1. Click File > Options > People.

  2. Select or clear Show user photographs when available (requires restarting Outlook).

  3. Click OK.
