Turn auto-renew on or off

With your Office 365 for home subscription, you can turn on auto-renew to enjoy uninterrupted service.

Turn auto-renew on
  1. Sign in to your Microsoft Account at account.microsoft.com.

  2. Choose Subscriptions & Services.

  3. In the Office 365 subscription details, you'll have one of four options:

    • Turn off auto-renew - You already have auto-renew turned on so there's nothing you need to do.

    • Renew - Set up a payment option to turn on auto-renew.

    • Turn on auto-renew - Choose to turn on auto-renew with a single click.

    • Best Buy - Choose Manage billing to go to the Best Buy renewal page.

Manage how frequently you are billed
  1. In the Office 365 subscription details, choose Switch plan.

  2. Choose whether you want to pay Monthly or Yearly.

  3. Choose Confirm.

Turn auto-renew off
  1. In the Office 365 subscription details, choose Turn off auto-renew.

  2. On the next page choose Confirm cancellation.

When you subscribe to Office 365 for home, you can choose to auto-renew your subscription. That way you'll enjoy uninterrupted service.

To start, go to account.microsoft.com and sign in to the Microsoft Account you use for Office 365 and choose Services & Subscriptions.

If you haven’t turned on auto-renew before, you might see a banner at the top of the screen that says Get 1 month free with automatic renewal for Office 365.

If so, click Get 1 month free and complete the steps to renew.

Within the Office 365 subscription details, you might see the expiration date and one of these options:

Renew. Turn on auto-renew or Turn off auto-renew.

If you bought your subscription through Best Buy, choose Manage billing and it will take you to the Best Buy renewal page.

If your link says Turn on auto-renew, choose it and auto-renew is now on.

And if your link says Renew, choose it.

If you do not have a payment option setup with your Microsoft account, you will need to enter that information.

After that your subscription will now renew automatically on the expiration date.

You can also change whether you are billed yearly or monthly. Choose Switch plan and then decide how often you want to be billed.

To turn off automatic renewal, choose Turn off auto-renew.

And then choose Confirm cancellation.
