The AutoComplete menu doesn't appear

Cause: The AutoComplete menu has been disabled.

Solution:    Turn on AutoComplete

  1. On the Excel menu, click Preferences.

  2. Under Formulas and Lists, click AutoComplete  Excel AutoComplete Preferences button .

  3. Select the Show the AutoComplete menu for functions, named ranges check box.

Cause: The AutoComplete menu is set to appear only after letters have been entered.

Solution:    Show the AutoComplete menu after an equals sign (=) is entered.

  1. On the Excel menu, click Preferences.

  2. Under Formulas and Lists, click AutoComplete  Excel AutoComplete Preferences button .

  3. In the Show the menu only after I've typed box, change the value to 0.
