Important: To complete this procedure, you must first turn on Chinese or Japanese language features. For more information, see Turn on Chinese language features or Turn on Japanese language features (U.S. version only).

  1. Select the text that you want to change to half-width or full-width characters.

  2. On the Home tab, under Font, click Change Case Home tab, Font group, Change Case button, and then select the option that you want.

Tip: You can switch between half-width and full-width only for Latin letters, numbers, and katakana characters. To change hiragana to half-width katakana characters, select the hiragana that you want to change to half-width katakana. Then, on the Format menu, click Change Case, and then click Katakana.
