Set up the SharePoint Online Management Shell environment

SharePoint Online global administrators use the SharePoint Online Management Shell to perform certain tasks, such remotely managing site collections, upgrading site collections to a new version, configuring SharePoint Online company-level settings, and getting logs from data connections between SharePoint Online and other services. Set up SharePoint Online Management Shell

Before you can use the the SharePoint Online Management Shell, make sure it is installed and that you have connected to SharePoint Online. To do that, see the TechNet article, Connect to SharePoint Online PowerShell.
