Set up email using the iOS Mail app

Important: Apple has fixed an issue in 11.0 that caused a "Cannot send mail" error for Outlook.com, O365, and Exchange mail accounts. If you're on iOS 11.0, update your device to iOS 11.0.1 or later to fix the issue.

Choose your email account:

Go to your iPhone or iPad's Settings > scroll down and tap Accounts & Passwords > Add Account.

Note: If you're on iOS 10, go to Mail > Accounts >Add Account.

Tap "Add Account"

Select Exchange.

Choose Exchange

Enter your Office 365 or Exchange email address and a description of your account. Tap Next.

Note: For example, @yourdomain.com, @domain.onmicrosoft.com, or @schoolname.edu.

Exchange Sign In

Tap Sign In.

Note: If you want to set up manually, tap Configure manually to enter your server settings.

Tap Sign In if using O365 or tap Configure Manually if you have your organization's server settings.

Enter the password associated with your email account. Tap Sign in.

Enter your O365 work or school account password.

The Mail app may request certain permissions. Tap Accept.

Tap Allow if prompted to give permission.

Choose the services you want to sync with your iOS device and tap Save. You're done!

Outlook.com accounts include @hotmail.com, @msn.com, @live.com, @outlook.co.uk, etc.

Go to your device's Settings, scroll down and tap Accounts & Passwords >Add Account.

Note: If you're on iOS 10, go to Mail > Accounts >Add Account.

Tap "Add Account"

Choose Outlook.com.

Enter your full email address. Tap Next.

Enter Outlook.com email address

Enter your email account's password. Tap Sign In.

Enter password and sign in

You may need to approve certain permissions such as accessing your calendar and contacts. To agree, tap Yes.

Tap Yes to agree to permissions.

Choose the services you want to sync with your iOS device and tap Save.
