Track sales opportunities

Each time you have the opportunity to sell a product or service to a current or potential customer, you can fill in an Opportunity form to record the products or services you think the person might buy. Opportunities can give you a better idea about your expected revenue, and help you see which products and services you need to order.

Track leads

Names of potential customers can come from personal encounters, recommendations from employees, friends or existing customers, or from responses to marketing activities. When you fill in a Lead form, you can qualify or rate the lead based on criteria you create. Qualifying a lead can help you identify people or organizations who are most likely to buy your products or services so that you know where to concentrate your efforts.

When a lead makes a purchase, you can convert the Lead record into a Business Contact record. For more information about leads, see Manage your potential customers or leads in Business Contact Manager.

Market your products and services

You can start, track, and analyze a variety of marketing activities in Business Contact Manager for Outlook. Marketing activities include call lists, direct-mail print, and mass e-mail. Business Contact Manager for Outlook works with the mail merge feature in Microsoft Word and Publisher to create mailings using your Business Contact Manager for Outlook records.

Plan and track business projects

You may have many projects to handle, each with their own sets of tasks. In Business Contact Manager for Outlook, you can create a project, noting details on a Business Project form, add Project Tasks, and track their progress through the Project Management workspace.
