Print a document in Word 2016 for Mac

Before you print, you can preview your document, specify which pages to print, and specify other options.

This topic includes the following procedures:

Preview and print an entire document

  1. On the File menu, click Print.

  2. If you want to preview pages, click the forward and backward arrows in Print dialog box.

    Select Show Quick Preview and click the arrow buttons to display previews of pages in your document.
  3. Set the number of copies to print by typing a number or using the arrow control to change the number in Copies, and then click Print.

    Type or use the arrow control to set the number of copies to print.

    When All under Pages is selected, Word sends all pages to the selected printer.

  4. Click Print.

Print specific pages by page number

  1. On the File menu, click Print.

  2. Under Pages, specify the currently displayed page, specific pages, or ranges of pages:

    • To print the page shown in preview, select Current Page.

    • To print consecutive pages, such as 1 through 3, select From, enter the starting page number in From and the ending page number in to.

      Print a range of pages by entering a starting page for From and an ending page for To.
    • To print individual pages and ranges of pages, such as page 3 and pages 4 through 6, select Page Range, and enter the page numbers and ranges separated by commas (for example, 3, 4-6).

      Print specific pages and ranges of pages by specifying them in Page Range.
  3. Click Print.

Select other printing options and print a document

  1. On the File menu, click Print.

  2. In Print, select Microsoft Word.

    In the Print dialog box, select Microsoft Word to configure more settings for printing.
  3. Click Word Options to display additional printing options.

    Click Word Options to select additiona printing options.

    Click Word Options to select additional printing options.

    After you have made your selections, close this window to return to the previous window.

  4. To print content other than the final document, select an item from the Print What list.

    Select document elements for printing in the Print What list to print.

    Options include document properties, document showing markup, list of markup, styles, AutoText entries, and key assignments.

  5. Click Print.
