Cause: Some animation effects available in PowerPoint 2011 may not work or play as expected in PowerPoint 2004 or an earlier version.
Solution: Apply only basic entrance and exit animations, which work in most versions of PowerPoint.
To make the presentation compatible with earlier versions of PowerPoint, do not use Emphasis or Motion path animation effects. In addition, be sure to use entrance or exit animation effects that are also available in PowerPoint 2004 or earlier.
Solution: Don't set animations to overlap or play simultaneously.
When you open your presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint X or earlier, animations that are set to overlap or play simultaneously will play sequentially. To avoid this, on the Animations tab, under Animation Options, on the Start pop-up menu, set all animations to play On Click or After Previous.
Solution: Don't add multiple animation effects to the same object.
When you open your presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint X or earlier, PowerPoint plays only the first animation effect that is applied to objects with multiple animations.
