List an Opportunity as closed in Business Contact Manager

Almost as important in viewing the state of potential business is knowing about past business - which closed opportunities turned into actual sales. This information can help you decide where to spend your resources and predict which of your customers are more likely to buy from you next time.

List an Opportunity as closed

  1. On the Business Contact Manager menu, click Opportunities.

  2. Double-click the Opportunity record that you want to close.

  3. Under Status, in the Sales stage box, click the arrow, and then click one of the following:

    • Closed Won

    • Closed Lost

  4. Optionally, in the Close date box, click the arrow, and then click the actual close date for the Opportunity.

  5. Click Save & Close.

  6. Repeat the preceding steps for each Opportunity that you want to close.

View closed Opportunities

  1. On the Business Contact Manager menu, click Opportunities.

  2. In the Navigation pane, under Current View, click By Sales Stage.

  3. In the Sales Stage column, the Opportunities are grouped by the type of sales stage. Sales Stage: Closed Won and Sales Stage: Closed Lost display the list of closed Opportunities that were won or lost.

Create a report listing closed Opportunities

  1. On the Business Contact Manager menu, point to Reports, point to Opportunities, and then click one of the following reports:

    • Opportunities by Account

    • Opportunities by Business Contact

    • Opportunities by Assigned To

    • Opportunities by Source of Lead

    • Opportunities by Product or Service Item

  2. On the Reports toolbar, click Filter Report.

  3. On the Simple Filter tab, under Sales Stage, clear the check boxes of each type of sales stage except Closed Won and Closed Lost, and then click OK.

    The report lists only the closed Opportunities.
