The Flag1 through Flag20 fields indicate whether a task, resource, or assignment is marked for further action or identification of some kind. To mark a task, click Yes in a Flag field. If you don't want a task marked, click No. By default, flag fields are set to No.

There are several categories of Flag1-20 fields.

Data Type    Yes/No

Flag1-20 (task fields)

Entry Type    Calculated or entered

Best Uses    Use one of these custom Flag fields whenever you want to add any Yes/No data to task information. Add a custom Flag field to a task sheet when you want to mark certain tasks for viewing, filtering, formatting, or editing. You can also use the Flag field to format custom Gantt bars in special tasks.

Example    You need to track specialized accounting information in certain tasks. You add a Flag field and click Yes in the field for each task that needs the special tracking. You then filter for that Flag field to work with only those tasks marked Yes.

Remarks    You can define value lists, formulas, and graphical indicators for a Flag field in the Custom Fields dialog box. Specifying a formula causes the field to become read-only.

You can copy the custom fields you create to other project files and you can also delete any custom attributes you've assigned to a custom field in the Organizer dialog box.

You can also use this Customize Fields dialog box to rename the Flag field to describe the information you're setting or delete any custom attributes you've assigned to a custom field.
