Find journal entries in a list

The Journal Entry List contains all of the transactions and adjustments recorded as journal entries in your company's accounts. For more information, see About journal entries.

  1. On the Company menu, point to Company Lists, and then click Journal Entries.

    Note: The Memo field contains information about the contents of the journal entry.

  2. Do one or more of the following:

    • Open journal entries.

      1. Select one or more (up to 10) journal entries in the list.

      Click the journal entry.

      Select multiple journal entries in the list

      Hold down the CTRL key and select individual journal entries, or hold down the SHIFT key and select a range of journal entries.

      Select all the journal entries in the list

      On the Edit menu, click Select All.

      Cancel a selection

      Hold down the CTRL key and click the journal entry.

      1. On the File menu, click Open Selected Items.

    • Find a journal entry by keyword.

      1. On the toolbar, click Find.

      2. In the Look for field, type a keyword.

      3. Click the arrow next to Search under, and then select a column title.

      4. Click Find.

      5. To return to the full list, click Clear.

    • View journal entries by status.

      To view journal entries by status, click the arrow next to Current View, and then do one of the following.

      Click

      To

      Non Voided

      View only journal entries that are valid.

      Voided

      View only journal entries that have been voided. The VOID stamp button image appears in the column next to the voided journal entry.

      Cash Basis

      View only cash-basis journal entries that are valid.

      Voided Cash Basis

      View only cash-basis journal entries that have been voided.

      All

      View valid and voided journal entries.

    • Print journal entries from the list or print the Journal Entry List.

      1. Hold down the CTRL key and select individual journal entries, or hold down the SHIFT key and select a range of journal entries.

      2. Right-click, and then click Print Button image . In the Print dialog box, click Documents to print the selected journal entries or click List to print the Journal Entry List, and then click OK.
