Customize notebook layout view

Do any of the following:

Select a notebook style

  1. On the View menu, click Notebook Layout.

  2. On the Appearance tab, under Appearance, click Type, and then click the notebook style that you want.

Change the workspace background

  1. On the View menu, click Notebook Layout.

  2. On the Appearance tab, under Appearance, click Background, and then click the background design that you want.

Customize rule lines

  1. On the View menu, click Notebook Layout.

  2. On the Appearance tab, under Rule Lines, make the changes that you want.

    Note: The rule lines settings apply to the whole notebook.

Change the notebook tab color

  1. On the View menu, click Notebook Layout.

  2. Click the notebook tab that you want to change.

  3. On the Appearance tab, under Notebook Tabs, click Color, and then select the color that you want.

Change the notebook tab text

  1. On the View menu, click Notebook Layout.

  2. Click the notebook tab that you want to change.

  3. On the Appearance tab, under Notebook Tabs, click Rename, and then make the changes that you want.

Add a notebook tab

  1. On the View menu, click Notebook Layout.

  2. On the right side of the notebook, click the small tab with the plus sign  Notebook Layout View, Add New Tab .

Delete a notebook tab

  1. On the View menu, click Notebook Layout.

  2. Click the tab that you want to delete.

    Caution: If you delete a notebook tab, all text on the tab is also deleted.

  3. On the Appearance tab, under Notebook Tabs, click Delete.

Add a footer to a notebook

  1. On the View menu, click Notebook Layout.

  2. On the Appearance tab, under Footer, select the options that you want.

    Note: Footers apply to the whole notebook.
