Check spelling using the German post-reform spelling rules

To check the spelling of German text using the post-reform spelling rules, you first have to configure your Microsoft Office programs to use the German language, and then configure Microsoft Office InfoPath to use the German post-reform spelling rules.

To check the spelling of German text when you design a form template, you must install the Microsoft Office Language Pack 2007 for German and configure your Microsoft Office programs to use the German language.

Step 1: Configure Microsoft Office programs to use the German language

This procedure assumes that you have already installed the appropriate language pack.

  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office 2007 Language Settings.

  2. Click the Editing Languages tab.

  3. In the Available editing languages list, click a German language, and then click Add.

  4. In the Primary editing language list, click the primary editing language that you want to use when designing a form template.

    Note: When a language is set as the primary editing language, you cannot remove that language from the Editing languages enabled list. To remove the primary editing language from that list, you must first select another language in the Primary editing language list.

Step 2: Use German post-reform spelling rules

To complete this procedure, you must first install and configure the language pack for German on your computer. The German: Use post-reform rules check box appears in the Spelling Options dialog box only after you have installed and configured the language pack.

  1. On the Tools menu in InfoPath, point to Spelling, and then click Spelling Options.

  2. In the Spelling Options dialog box, select the German: Use post-reform rules check box.
