Office 365 Business Premium

If you currently have Office 365 Small Business, Office 365 Small Business Premium, or Office 365 Midsize Business, and you have heard about the new Office 365 for small and midsize business plans (Office 365 Business, Office 365 Business Essentials, and Office 365 Business Premium), you can switch to those plans using the switch plans wizard when you renew your subscription. For more information, see Renew Office 365 small and midsized business subscriptions.

For all other Office 365 for business plans, see Switch to a different Office 365 business plan or subscription

Office 365 for business plans you can switch between manually

The first columns of Tables 2 through 4 show the different Office 365 for business plans that you can switch between manually. For each Office 365 plan, we show which services are included in that plan. This way you can see what you might gain or lose when manually switching from one subscription to another.

Note: You cannot manually switch from Office 365 Small Business, Small Business Premium, or Midsize Business to a different Office 365 for business plan. This is done through the renewal process. To learn more, see Renew Office 365 small and midsized business subscriptions.

In tables 2 through 4, you can see that when you switch from Office 365 Business Premium to Office 365 Business Essentials, you'll lose the Office Desktop apps. You can also see that switching from Exchange Online plan 1 (see table 4), to Office 365 Business Essentials (see table 2) you'll still have Exchange Online Plan 1 but you'll also have several additional services after you switch plans.

Tip: Each of these services are associated with data that’s stored in Office 365 except for Office Online and Office Desktop apps. If you will switch to a plan that has fewer services, you might be able to back up the data for the services that you'll lose before you switch plans.
