Add, remove, or delete a dimension member

In PerformancePoint Planning Business Modeler, you can add an existing member of a dimension to a member set in that dimension. You can also remove a member from a member set, or delete a dimension member from the dimension.

Add a member to a member set

To add a member to a member set:

  1. In the Workspace Browser pane, click Dimensions.

  2. In the Dimensions workspace, click the dimension that you want to open, and then check it out by clicking Check Out in the Model Tasks pane.

  3. Click the Member Sets Maintenance tab to open the Member Sets Maintenance workspace.

  4. Find the Member set drop-down list in the Destination Member Set pane, and then select the member set to which you want to add a member.

    • To add a member to the new member set as a sibling of the selected member:    Right-click a dimension member from the Source Member Set pane, and then click Add as Sibling.

    • To add a member to the new member set as a child of the selected member:    Right-click a dimension member in the Source Member Set pane, and then click Add as Child.

    • To create a new, empty member in a member set:    Click the Create New Sibling button or the Create New Child button on the toolbar.

  5. After you create the new member, you must type values in the Name and Label boxes. Planning Business Modeler requires these values at a minimum. Other values may be required by processes that use the dimension that contains the new member.

Remove a member from a member set

You can remove a member from any member set except the All Members member set. To remove a member from the All Members member set, you must delete the dimension member.

To remove a member from a member set:

  1. In the Workspace Browser pane, click Dimensions.

  2. In the Dimensions workspace, click the dimension that you want to open, and then check it out by clicking Check Out in the Model Tasks pane.

  3. Click the Member Maintenance tab to open the Member Maintenance workspace.

  4. In the Member set drop-down list, select the member set from which you want to remove the member.

  5. In the member list, right-click the member that you want to remove from the member set, and then click Remove Member.

Delete a dimension member

  1. In the Workspace Browser pane, click Dimensions.

  2. In the Dimensions workspace, click the name of the dimension to open the dimension.

  3. In the Model Tasks pane, click Check Out to make the model available for modification. .

  4. Click the Member Maintenance tab to open the workspace.

  5. In the Member set drop-down list, select the All Members member set.

  6. In the member list, right-click the member that you want to delete, and then click Delete Member.
