You can add a Flow to an existing SharePoint list to create automation and workflow. This article will show you how.
Note: Some functionality is introduced gradually to organizations that have opted in to the First Release program. If you're not enrolled in the First Release program, or your administrator has set your view to Classic SharePoint, you may not yet see this feature or it may look different than what is described in the help articles.
Add a Flow to a SharePoint list
You can add a Flow to an existing SharePoint list.
The first step is to navigate to the list where you want to add a Flow. One way to do that is to first navigate to your SharePoint site and then view all of the contents of the site. Once you are on your SharePoint site click the Settings icon in the upper right corner of your web browser and then click Site Contents. You will then see all of the contents of your SharePoint site, including all of the lists. Click on the list to navigate to it.
At the top of the list click the Flow drop-down and then click Add flow.
Select a Flow template from the right-hand pane. Your browser will refresh with the main Flow website (https://flow.microsoft.com).
Follow the instructions on the MS Flow site to connect the flow to your SharePoint list.
Tip: If you have not already signed in to Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint Online then you will be asked to do so.
Configure the Flow and then click the Create Flow button.
After the Flow has been created, click Done.
Note: You can view all of your flows and check status on the Flow website located at: https://flow.microsoft.com.
For this example, a Flow that sends an email was added to the list. Whenever a new item is added an email is sent.

Activating MS Flow in a SharePoint list app
The next generation of SharePoint lists are being rolled out over time. The Office 365 tenant administrator can set the default behavior for new lists. If the default behavior is set to the classic experience then you will not see the Flow menu at the top of your screen. If the new experience is available you can enable it for your list in the Advanced Settings for the list app. To learn more, see Switch the default experience for lists or document libraries from new or classic.
