Work with diagram pages in Visio Online

As you work with a diagram, you may find the need to add pages to it. Perhaps the diagram is getting larger than you expected. Or you want to break the diagram down into several parts to make it easier to understand. In Visio Online, you can have up to 50 pages in a diagram. Alternatively, you may want to adjust the print areas of the diagram on a page.

Add a page

  1. Open the diagram for editing. For more information, see View, create, and edit a diagram in Visio Online.

  2. At the bottom of the diagram, select Insert a new page New document icon .

  1. Open the diagram for viewing or editing. For more information, see View, create, and edit a diagram in Visio Online.

  2. Select the desired page tab at the bottom of the diagram.

If there are many pages in the diagram, you may not see the page you want.

  1. Open the diagram for viewing or editing. For more information, see View, create, and edit a diagram in Visio Online.

  2. At the bottom of the diagram, select Scroll to Previous Tab or Scroll to Next Tab ... until you reveal the page.

Work with print areas in a diagram

By default, if a diagram on a page is larger than 8 ½ X 11 inches, then different letter-size areas are separated by dotted lines on the canvas. These dotted lines indicate the current print areas for the diagram.

You may want to move shapes or resize shapes to add or remove the print areas.

  • To hide the dotted lines, clear Design > Page Breaks.

Rename a page

  1. Open the diagram for editing. For more information, see View, create, and edit a diagram in Visio Online.

  2. Right click the page tab, and then select Rename.

  3. In the Rename Page dialog box, enter a name.

Delete a page

  1. Open the diagram for editing. For more information, see View, create, and edit a diagram in Visio Online.

  2. Right click the page tab, and then select Delete.

    Tip    If you accidentally delete a page, select Home > Undo or press Ctrl+Z.

Reorder pages

You can’t reorder pages in Visio Online. But you can edit the diagram in Visio, reorder the pages, save and close the file, and then refresh the Visio Online diagram.
