I need a desk chair to add to our team’s new office floorplan diagram.
When I type desk chair in Search shapes and select Start search, I get quite a few results.
This one is the closest to what I want.
So I select its stencil title to open the stencil.
Next, I’ll save the shape to a custom stencil. I right-click the shape, select Add to My Shapes, and select my New Office Floorplan custom stencil.
Now I’ll open the stencil …
… right-click its title, and select Edit Stencil so I can make changes to it.
To change the name of this chair shape, I right-click it, select Rename Master and type a more descriptive name.
To edit the shape, I right-click it, select Edit Master, and select Edit Master Shape.
This shape is too small to work with , so, I’ll zoom in on it.
Our standard desk chairs don’t have arm rests. I right-click the shape and select Hide Arms to remove them.
Our chairs are also a different color. To change the color, I go to Home, select Fill, and choose a color.
I select the Close box when I’m done making changes, select Yes to update the shape, and select Save in the stencil title bar to save the stencil.
Now I can delete the chair in my floor plan, and replace it with the chair shape I just created, which looks much more like the chairs we’ll have in our new space.
