Use a screen reader to sync OneDrive for Business in Mac

Read out loud symbol with the label Screen reader content. This topic is about using a screen reader with Office

This article is for people who use a screen reader program with the Office products and is part of the Office Accessibility content set. For more general help, see Office Support home.

Keep the OneDrive folder on your Mac in sync with your OneDrive for Business in the cloud using a keyboard and VoiceOver, the built-in screen reader for Mac OS.

Notes:

  1. If you aren’t already signed in, go to the Office 365 page and sign in to your Microsoft account.

  2. Press the Tab key repeatedly until you hear “Go to OneDrive for Business,” and then press Enter.

  3. Press the Tab key repeatedly until you hear: “New.” The focus is on Files view.

  4. Press the Right Arrow key repeatedly until you hear “Sync,” and press Enter.

  5. The Sync dialog opens and you hear: “Sync this library to your device for easy access.”

  6. Press the Tab key repeatedly until you hear “Sync Now,” and press Enter. OneDrive synchronizes your files.

Tip: To change which OneDrive folders you want to sync on your Mac, in your OneDrive app, choose Preferences. OneDrive syncs folders (not individual files), and, to be included in a sync, a folder must be one that you own rather than one that is shared with you. For more information, see OneDrive for Mac: FAQ.
