Send email from a different address in Outlook.com

If you've connected another email account to your Outlook.com account, you can choose to send email from that address. For example, you might receive a message sent to your Outlook.com account but reply to it using your Gmail address.

To do this, you need to connect another email account to your Outlook.com account. See Add your other email accounts to Outlook.com to learn more.

You can also add an email address in Outlook.com and send email from that address.

Choose your version for instructions

The instructions are slightly different depending on whether you're using the Outlook.com beta. Choose which version of Outlook.com you're using to see the troubleshooting steps that apply to you.

Send email from a different email address in Outlook.com beta

  1. In the compose window, select More actions > Show From to see the From line.

  2. Select From and choose which email address you want to use.

  1. At the top of the page, select Settings Settings > View full settings.

  2. In the Options pane, under Mail > Sync email.

  3. Under Set default From address, choose an address from the drop-down list.

  4. Select Save.

  1. At the top of the page, select Settings Settings > Options.

  2. In the Options pane, under Mail > Accounts, select Connected accounts.

  3. Under From address, select Change your From address.

  4. Choose an address from the drop-down list and select Save.
