You have access to LinkedIn profile information and LinkedIn Sales Nav in Microsoft apps. For an overview of all LinkedIn features across Microsoft apps and services, see LinkedIn integration in Microsoft apps and services.

LinkedIn in your work or school account

If LinkedIn is enabled in your organization, you can see some public LinkedIn information in Microsoft apps and services. For example, you can see someone's LinkedIn photo and job title on profile cards in Outlook or OneDrive for Business.

If you don’t have a LinkedIn account, you can still see some public information about others.

To see detailed LinkedIn information, you must connect your LinkedIn account with your Microsoft account. After you connect your accounts, you can view more LinkedIn information and connect with colleagues. When communicating with someone in Outlook, you can see if you and the person share a common connection on LinkedIn. Your LinkedIn connections may also show up as suggested contacts in Outlook on the web and OneDrive for Business. Microsoft data is used to customize your LinkedIn experience.

Over time, you can expect your networking experience on LinkedIn to improve with information from your Microsoft account. For example, LinkedIn may suggest that you connect to some of your Microsoft contacts.

LinkedIn Sales Navigator in Microsoft apps

The profile card shows you information about your prospect, such as profile information, a Save Lead option, Highlights, and TeamLink Connections. By surfacing insights about your prospective leads directly within Outlook, the integration ensures you don’t have to leave your workflow to access important information about prospects.

You can:

  • Access information about a contact and Save Lead within Outlook.

  • View the LinkedIn profile of your saved lead, their highlights, and TeamLink connections.

  • Connect directly via Outlook.

How do I know if my organization allows me to see LinkedIn info in Microsoft apps?

  1. Go to a Microsoft app or solution, for example, Outlook on the web or OneDrive for Business.

  2. Open a profile card.

  3. If you see the LinkedIn icon on the profile card, your organization allows you to connect your LinkedIn account. If you don’t see the LinkedIn icon, your organization has disabled account connections.

LinkedIn in your personal Microsoft account

You can see people’s public LinkedIn information in your personal Microsoft account, for example, on profile cards in Outlook. To see more LinkedIn information, you must connect your LinkedIn account with your personal Microsoft account.

When you connect your accounts, you will have access to your 1st-degree connections on LinkedIn directly within some Microsoft apps. Over time, you can also expect your networking experience on LinkedIn to improve with information from your Microsoft account. For example, LinkedIn may suggest that you connect to some of your Microsoft contacts.

Public information

You are in charge of your account and you can adjust your public LinkedIn profile and what others can see.

When you connect your accounts, information from your Microsoft account will not be used to update your public profile.
