Adding videos to your notes is a great way to create interactive notebooks that you can share with or distribute to others. You can embed videos from a variety of sources, with more options on the way.

Your browser does not support video. Install Microsoft Silverlight, Adobe Flash Player, or Internet Explorer 9.

Do the following:

  1. Copy any video link from your preferred video source (for example, open a video on YouTube and then copy its URL from your browser’s Address bar by pressing Ctrl+C).

  2. In OneNote, go to the page where you want to insert the video.

  3. Click anywhere on the page, and then press Ctrl+V to paste the link. Now you can either click the link to play the video back at its source, or click the embedded video to watch it right there on the page.

Supported video sites

While you can insert links to any video source in OneNote, embedding playable videos on a page currently works with the following sites and services:

  • Dailymotion

  • Office Mix

  • Sway

  • Vimeo

  • Vine

  • YouTube

Tip: Please check back periodically to see when additional sites or services may have been added.
