Horizontal alignment determines how the left and right edges of a paragraph fit between the left and right margins of a text box. Vertical alignment determines the placement of the text within the text box vertically. You can adjust these alignments in Publisher.

Align text horizontally

  1. Select the paragraphs for which you want to change the horizontal alignment.

  2. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group,, click the Paragraph dialog box launcher, and then click the Indents and Spacing tab.

  3. Under General, in the Alignment list, click the alignment you want.

  4. Click OK.

Align text vertically

  1. Right-click the text box for which you want to set vertical alignment.

  2. On the shortcut menu, click Format Text Box.

  3. In the Format Text Box dialog box, click the Text Box tab.

  4. In the Vertical alignment box, select Top, Middle, or Bottom.

  5. Click OK.
