Why is Office taking so long to install?
If you see this error message, “Sorry it looks like you're on a slow connection…" or Office is taking a really long time to install, try these solutions.
Do you have an HP 4500 or HP 8500 Officejet printer? If so, stop the spooler service while you install Office.
Check to see if Office is installed
In Windows 8, on the Start screen, type the name of an application, like Word 2013. Search should open automatically as you type.
Windows 7: Click Start > All Programs > Microsoft Office 2013.
Restart your computer and switch to a wired connection
Sometimes restarting your computer is enough to fix the problem. Another thing that can speed things up is switching to a wired connection which is usually faster than wireless. After that, restart the Office Installation.
Temporarily turn off antivirus software
Turn off your antivirus software, and then restart the Office Installation. Don't forget to turn your antivirus software back on after you install Office.

For Windows, click this Fix it, and then at the bottom of your browser screen, click Open.
After Office is completely removed, restart the Office Installation.
