When opening an Outlook 2016 email message saved in the computer, you received the error "We can't open 'file location\file.msg'."

When you try to open an Outlook 2016 message that you saved on your computer, you get this error:

Error message: We can't open "file location\file.msg".

We can't open "file location\file.msg". It's possible the file is already open, or you don't have permission to open it. To check your permissions, right-click the file folder, then click Properties.

Status: Fixed

This issue is now fixed. To get the update immediately, open any Office 2016 app and choose File > Account > Update Options >Update Now.
