Undo and redo actions

In the Office apps, you can undo and redo an action or a series of actions.

Undo

  1. Select Undo or press Ctrl + Z.

  2. To remove more than one action, select Undo until the file returns to what you previously had.

Note: You cannot undo an action like saving a file, but you might be able to AutoRecover it.

Redo

  1. Select Redo or press Ctrl + Y.

  2. To redo more than one action, select Redo several times.

In the Office apps, you can undo and redo an action or a series of actions.

For example, if you’ve formatted some text and changed your mind about how it looks, select Undo or press Ctrl + Z.

To remove more than one action, continue to select Undo until the file returns to what you had.

The same idea applies to an action that you want to redo.

Select Redo or press Ctrl + Y once or multiple times until you're satisfied.
