Recover deleted contacts

If you delete a contact in Outlook and need to recover it, you can retrieve it from the Deleted Items folder.

  1. Select Deleted Items.

  2. In the Search Deleted Items box, type in fullname:.

  3. Type in any part of your contact’s first or last name after the fullname: command.

  4. Press Enter.

  5. To move your contact back to your address book, right-click your contact and select Move > Other Folder....

  6. Select Contacts > OK.

  7. To find your recovered contact, select People.

Recover a deleted contact in Outlook

If you’d like to recover a deleted contact in Outlook, you can retrieve it from your Deleted Items folder.

First, choose Deleted Items,

and in the Search Deleted Items box, type in “fullname,” followed by a colon.

This will help filter the search results to just Outlook contacts.

Next, type in any part of your contact’s first or last name after the fullname: command.

Then press Enter.

Once your contact appears, you can move it back to your address book.

Right-click your contact and choose Move

and then choose Other Folder….

Choose Contacts and click OK.

To find your recovered contact, choose People.

And there’s your contact.
