Change your Office for home password

Change your Office for home password to keep your account secure.

  1. Sign in to account.microsoft.com with your Microsoft account.

    Note: The email address and password for your Microsoft account is the same account you might also use for services such as Xbox Live, Skype or Outlook.com.

  2. Select Security.

  3. Select Change Password.

  4. Verify your account on the Protect your account page.
    Or, sign in again.

  5. On the change your password page, type in your Current password.

  6. Type in a New password and then reenter the password.

  7. Select Next to change your password.

What is Office 365?

Changing your password keeps your account secure.

If you use a version of Office for home, the account you use is your Microsoft Account.

This is the account you might also use with Xbox, Skype or Outlook.com.

To change your password, go to account.microsoft.com.

Sign in with your email address and current password.

Choose Security and Change Password.

For your security, you might be asked to sign in again or verify your account.

Type in the Current password.

Enter a New password and reenter it.

Choose Next and your password is updated.
