Use VoiceOver to make a call in Skype for Business on iPhone and iPad

With Skype for Business, you can use VoiceOver—the screen reader built in to iOS—to call colleagues on your iPhone and iPad.

Make a call

  1. Start the Skype for Business app and sign in.

    Tip: For sign-in help, refer to Get started using VoiceOver with Skype for Business on iPhone and iPad.

  2. Do any of the following:

    • To call a person who is in the Recent list, tap their name.

    • To call a person who isn’t in the Recent list, in the upper-right corner of the screen, tap the Contacts button. You hear “Contacts button.” To activate it, double-tap it. To select the person you want to call, tap their name.

  3. You hear the name of the person. To open the person’s contact card, double-tap their name. As the focus moves to the Back button at the top of the screen, you hear “Back button.”

  4. In the upper-right corner of the screen, tap the Call button. You hear “Call button.”

  5. To make the call, double-tap the Call button. You hear ringing. After you initiate the call, the user interface (UI) contains the following main three levels of elements that you can select (in the following order, from top to bottom):

    • Video button, Mute button, and Speaker button (next to each other, from left to right)

    • Add button, Keypad button, and More button (next to each other, from left to right)

    • Hang up button
