In an activity diagram, swimlanes are a way of assigning responsibility to action states. Swimlanes are columns with solid vertical lines on each side.
Each swimlane represents the responsible class, person, or organizational unit. Each action state is assigned to only one swimlane. Transitions can cross lanes.
Resize a Swimlane shape
Select the shape, and then drag a selection handle.
Name a Swimlane shape partition and add other property values
Open the element's UML Properties dialog box by double-clicking the icon that represents the element in the tree view or the shape that represents the element in a diagram.
