Send contact information as a vCard

A vCard is a virtual business card that you can exchange with others electronically — just as you would exchange a paper business card. You can send contact information to someone else in vCard format, as long as the recipient uses an e-mail program that supports vCards.

  1. At the bottom of the navigation pane, click Contacts  Contacts view button .

  2. Click the contact that you want to send as a vCard.

  3. On the Home tab, click Forward.

    Forward and Map

A blank e-mail message opens with the vCard attached.

Note: When Outlook creates a vCard for a contact entry that contains an image, the image is converted to JPEG format. This format can be read by different applications.
