Search notes in Microsoft OneNote

One of the main advantages of using Microsoft OneNote instead of paper notebooks is how quickly you can search through all of your notes to find what you’re looking for.

iPad

  1. On any page of any notebook, tap the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner of the app.

  2. When the search box appears, tap the gear icon to the left of it, and then set any search options you want. You can select whether OneNote should search only within the current section, within the current section group, within the current notebook, or within all of your notebooks.

  3. Type a keyword or phrase into the search box at the top of the screen, and then tap Search.

  4. In the Search Results pane, tap the page on which your search text is found and OneNote will navigate to that page.

iPhone

  1. In the notebook you want to search, tap the icon in the upper left of the app.

  2. Type a keyword or phrase into the search box at the top of the screen, and then tap Search.

  3. In the list of results, tap the page on which your search text is found and OneNote will navigate to that page.
