Report Designer toolbar buttons in Management Reporter

The following tables describe the toolbar buttons for designing reports. Some toolbar buttons are available only in specific circumstances. For example, the buttons to promote and demote reporting units are only available while you are editing a reporting tree definition.

Standard toolbar

The standard toolbar provides quick access to file and edit commands. The standard toolbar includes the following buttons:

Toolbar Button

Description

new

Creates a new (empty) row definition, column definition, reporting tree definition, or report definition.

open

Opens an existing row definition, column definition, reporting tree definition, or report definition.

save

Saves the current row definition, column definition, reporting tree definition, or report definition.

cut

Deletes the selected text and copies it to the Clipboard.

copy

Copies the selected text and copies it to the Clipboard.

paste

Inserts the text from the Clipboard.

undo

Undoes the last action.

redo

Redoes the last undo action.

find

Opens the Find and Replace dialog box to search and replace text in the current window.

insert row

Inserts an empty row into the row definition or and empty header row in the column definition.

(Available from a row or column definition.)

insert column

Inserts an empty column into the column definition.

(Available from a column definition.)

apply password

Applies a password to the current building block.

(Available to report designers and Microsoft Office PerformancePoint 2007 Management Reporter administrators.)

open row links dialog box

Opens the Row Links dialog box to specify the sources for data links in row definitions and reporting tree definitions.

(Available from a row definition.)

promote unit

Promotes a unit of the reporting tree definition.

demote unit

Demotes a unit of the reporting tree definition.

expand all units

Expands all units of the reporting tree definition at the level of the selected unit.

collapse the tree

Collapses the entire reporting tree.

open the  report definition wizard

Opens the Report Definition Wizard to create a new report definition.

(Available to report designers and Management Reporter administrators.)

Formatting toolbar

The formatting toolbar provides quick access to style commands. The formatting toolbar includes the following buttons:

Toolbar Button

Description

apply font style

Applies the selected font style to the current text.

apply font style

Sets the current text to use the selected font.

set point size

Sets the current text to use the selected point size.

make bold

Makes the current text bold.

make italic

Makes the current text italic.

underline text

Underlines the current text.

decrease indent

Moves the current text to the left.

increase indent

Moves the current text to the right.

change background color

Changes the background color of the current cell.

change text color

Changes the color of the current text.

Management Reporter toolbar

The Management Reporter toolbar provides quick access to commands for navigating within Management Reporter. The Management Reporter toolbar includes the following buttons:

Toolbar Button

Description

opens report definition

Displays the report definition that is listed on the Window menu.

open row definition

Displays the row definition that is assigned to the active report definition.

open column definition

Displays the column definition that is assigned to the active report definition.

open reporting tree definition

Displays the reporting tree definition that is assigned to the active report definition.

start report viewer

Starts Report Viewer with focus on the most recent version of the generated report.

(Available from a report definition if you have generated at least one report.)

generate report

Generates a report from the active report definition.

(Available from a report definition.)
