Do you get this error when you try to activate Office 365, Office 2013, or Office 2016 after upgrading to Windows 10?
We’re sorry, something went wrong and we can’t do this for you right now. Please try again later. (0x8004FC12)
Here are some things you can try to fix the problem. We’ve listed the most common solutions first, so try them in order. After each solution, try activating Office again.
1 - Get the latest update for Windows 10
See the Windows Update: FAQ for instructions on how to get the latest update for Windows 10.
2 - Add Net Local Group
If you can't update Windows right away, you can use this procedure as a workaround. Note that this will only work if you're a member of the local Administrators group.
In search, type command prompt.
In the search results, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator.
Copy the following commands and paste them into the command prompt by right-clicking and selecting paste (you can't use CTRL + V in the Command Prompt window to paste). Copy one command at a time, and press Enter after pasting each one in the Command Prompt.
net localgroup Administrators localservice /add
fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
After you've entered all of the commands, reboot your device and try activating Office again.
