Mobile devices option in Outlook.com or Outlook on the web

Note: Sign in to Outlook on the web using any Microsoft account, including email accounts ending in @outlook.com, @live.com, @hotmail.com or @msn.com — and Office 365 work or student accounts.

The Mobile devices tab lets you view all the devices that you're currently using to synchronize with your mailbox. If you're using a POP or IMAP email program to synchronize your email, that will also appear in the list.

Important: Set up your email account on your mobile phone, tablet, or other supported device first. After you've created a connection to your mailbox from the mobile device it will be displayed in the Mobile devices list in Outlook on the web.

View devices connected to your Outlook on the web mailbox

To view the devices that you've connected to your mailbox:

  1. On the Outlook navigation bar, click Settings Click Settings > Options.

  2. In the far left pane under Options, click General > Mobile devices.

What can I do on the Mobile devices page?

You can perform several tasks if you have at least one mobile device set up to synchronize with your mailbox.

Tip: The list of mobile devices contains an entry for each mobile phone, tablet, other supported device, or program that's currently synchronizing with your mailbox. In addition, it shows an entry for each device that's previously synchronized with your mailbox. Mobile devices remain in this list until you remove them.

Select a mobile device from the list, and then click Details edit . This displays the details about the device, including the device name, type, and the last time the device was connected to your mailbox.

To remove a device from the list, select the device, and then click Remove discard .

Start logging

If your device can't synchronize or isn’t synchronizing correctly, your administrator may ask for the device's log. This log file contains technical details related to synchronization. To retrieve the log for your mobile device, select the device from the list, and then click Start Logging. You’ll receive an email message in your Inbox with the log file attached. The log file is a very small text file. Forward this log to the person who manages your email for help.

Refresh

Click Refresh to update the list of mobile devices that are synchronizing with your mailbox. The list will update automatically. However, if you’ve configured a new device and don't see it in the list, select Refresh. If the device still doesn't appear, check the email account settings on the device.
