Manage passwords used to open files for analysis and comparison (Spreadsheet Compare)

Important:  Spreadsheet Compare is only available with Office Professional Plus 2013 or Office 365 ProPlus.

If you're using Spreadsheet Compare to analyze or compare Excel workbooks that are password-protected, you can have Microsoft Spreadsheet Compare store those passwords on your computer. That way, you won’t be asked to enter passwords again and again.

  1. In Spreadsheet Compare, choose Options.

  2. Click Passwords. The Password Manager dialog box appears.

  3. Click Add.

  1. Enter and confirm your password, and add a description if you want.

If you have a lot of passwords for your files, you can create and import a text file that contains your passwords.
