A team-call group is a team of people who can answer your work calls. You can add or remove members, and select when they can answer calls for you.

Let’s say you have a team of people working on the same project or tasks. If one of your team members is away from their desk and their phone rings, anyone in the team-call group can answer the call for them.

As soon as a team member picks up the phone, the other phones stop ringing. If no one picks up the call, it goes to voice mail.

Set up team-call group

After you click OK, a notification reminds you that you need to turn on Simultaneously Ring. Setting up the group doesn’t automatically forward your calls to the team-call members.

  1. Click Simultaneously Ring, and choose My Team-Call Group from the menu.

Manage your team-call group

It’s a good idea to turn off the ringtone for your team-call group, so people just get a call alert instead of all phones ringing at the same time.

  1. In the Lync main window, click Options.

  2. Click Ringtones and Sounds, and under Calls to, choose My team (team-call group calls).

  3. Click None in the Ringtone box.

At any time you can remove members from the group, or turn off the option for your team to receive your calls.

  1. In the Lync main window, click Options > Call Forwarding.

  2. Click Turn off call forwarding.

  3. Click Edit my team-call group members.

  4. Select a person and click Remove.
