You can add external files to the report library. for example, you can add an Excel spreadsheet, a Word document, or a PDF file. This feature can be useful when you want users to be able to access external files associated with a report. To view the file, the user double-clicks the file; the computer opens the file with the appropriate application.
Note: In order to view the file, the user must have the application associated with the external file installed on the computer.
To insert external files into the Report Library, do the following:
In the navigation pane, click Library or click the folder into which you want to insert an external file.
On the Edit menu, click Insert External File.
Navigate to the file's location.
Click the file, and then click Open.
